I’m so excited! This summer I am finally old enough to go with daddy to his fishing cabin. Daddy goes every year and mommy never joins him. Just me and daddy!
I’m told to pack light. Shorts, tops, and a bathing suit. I can’t wait! I’ve never even seen pictures of his cabin.
It’s a long drive and I fall asleep.
When we finally get there, I’m a bit confused. Where is the lake? Where is the boats? It’s not even a cabin, but a shack. I ask daddy and notice his whole demeanor has changed. He seems mean and a bit angry at me. He tells me to take a quick shower.
I finish my shower and look for daddy. It seems the shack has a basement. How odd. I open the hatch and immediately I smell something, like rotten meat.
Daddy is wearing a big apron and is using his chain saw on something. I slowly climb down the later. Daddy smiles and hands me an apron.
