In many cultures, it is popular for people to do interesting things to their bodies to make them more beautiful, sensual, or for a traditional/religious purpose. Some of these “modifications” can be extremely painful at first, though some are tamer. There are people who elongate their necks with metal rings, put wooden bowls in their mouths to make their lips huge, and other interesting things. I think these painful modifications are a form of art, the art of pain. One of the things many Americans do is get tatoos. As you can see from my picture, I have several. Tatoos are a wonderful way to express yourself.
All that being said, I have to say, getting tatooed hurts, but it’s an enjoyable hurt, art that is pain. As I ran my fingers over my latest tatoo, I thought about other painful things that people do which are a piece of art. All of which are a definite turn on to me!!
Shibari- the art of sensual bondage and rope tying. The knotting can be extreme intricate and beautiful. The rope can chafe the submissive and be slightly painful in an erotic way. This is definitely a piece of art.
