I am walking down the street all by myself. If mommy knew I was not over at my friends house and was walking around without an adult she would ground me. No she would do more than ground me, she would spank me too. I really don’t care though, I want to go to the park and play. I am taking the shortcut down this side road by the woods so hopefully I won’t get seen by any of mommys friends who might tell on me.
So I go to the park and have lots of fun with all of my little friends. I look up and see that the sun is almost gone. It is almost dark time. Mommy is going to kill me! I am going to be in soooo much trouble. I start running home as fast as I can.
About halfway home on that same back woods road I fall down in a pothole and skin my knee bad, it is bleeding pretty good. It burns so much I start crying. I start limping home and it hurts really bad. By now it is almost all the way dark.
I see this car slowly pulling up beside me and I get scared quick. My school and mommy told me to never talk to strangers. The man stops the car and gets out and he has a little towel and a bottle of water in his hand and asks me how I hurt myself. I timidly tell him how and he walks up to me and gets on his knees on the concrete and starts cleaning up my cuts.
I know I am not supposed to talk to him but my knee hurts so bad and he is being nice. So I let him clean up my knee and I thank him and start walking again. I am limping pretty bad and it still hurts a lot. He asks me if I want a ride home and I tell him I am ok and can make it. He tells me I shouldn’t be walking out there late at night by myself and he will even let me sit in his lap and steer the car if I want to.
Daddy lets me steer the car all the time and I love it! I get really excited and start to hop in his car and then I say no I better not. He smiles at me and tells me that he used to be a teacher at the elementary school and he knows that I have been told to never trust strangers, but he is a retired teacher and promised I can trust him.
So I hop in the car and on his lap and start steering the car. Moments later I am screaming at the top of my lungs as he covers my mouth and steers the car down a path in the woods.
